Consultations
Enveloped to choose the right kind of electrodes even for a specialist is not an easy task. Decoding of electrodes requires certain knowledge of the subject and availability of special literature. All types of electrodes are classified by thickness and type of coating. We offer our clients the opportunity to review the self-succinct classification, and for detailed information call our technical consultants to help them understand the types of electrodes and decode electrodes in more accessible and understandable language.Briefly about electrodes
In order that the decoding of the electrodes does not seem so complicated, it is necessary to study what the welding electrode consists of.Welding electrode-conductive material in the form of a rod on which protective material of different types is applied. The rod must conduct a current for welding the product using the apparatus. All electrodes can be divided into two types: melting and non-melting. It is always a refractory material, for example, tungsten. The melt is made of wire of the type: carbonaceous, alloyed, highly alloyed.
All electrodes are manufactured in accordance with GOST 9466-75 and they can be classified according to:
- Materials from which they are produced;
- Different purposes;
- The thickness of the coating that is applied;
- Type of protective coating;
- Features of slag formation;
- The properties of the formed seam;
- Type of current used in the process;
- Position during welding.
All electrodes should be easily ignited, have a stable arc burning, evenly melt, and after welding there should be easy removal of slag and absence of pores and cracks.
For detailed advice on all types of electrodes, please contact the technologists and specialists of the sales department. We will help you understand the decoding of the electrodes and make the right choice. This will protect you from the consequences of incorrect selection of welding materials.
